I am Uriah Dortch: a builder, entrepreneur, president on a local board, and father to four. Being born and raised in North Carolina, I have deep roots here. My family's involvement in construction and rental property sparked my passion from an early age. I have fond memories of renovating houses with my mom in middle school and operating heavy machinery under careful supervision at just 12 years old.

 

Professional Experience:

My professional journey started in 2013 with American Homes 4 Rent (AMH), shortly after its inception. At AMH, I gained invaluable experience buying and renovating hundreds of houses monthly, collaborating closely with subcontractors to meet our high standards before properties were released to management. Over three years in the Raleigh market, our acquisitions team successfully transformed over 3,000 houses, contributing to the company's growth to a publicly traded entity. This experience honed my skills in building and managing subcontractors and taught me the nuances of property underwriting, ensuring sound investments for the company.
